The Truckee High School Track upgrade included the replacement of the existing track with a synthetic track surface, new restrooms, bleachers, and ADA compliant accessibility throughout. AEC tasks included storm drainage and water quality treatment for the new track as well as design and reconfiguration of three existing parking areas, drive aisles, walkways, and utility connections to the new restrooms.

The Tahoe City Winter Sports Park is a recreation concession provided by Tahoe-XC for the TCPUD on the Tahoe City Golf Course and adjoining property. The Winter Sports Park offers cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, and ice skating during the winter. The outdoor seasonal ice skating rink was built in 2016, expanding the winter recreational opportunities. AEC provided planning, design, and permitting services for the project.

The Airport Warehouse Office Building, now home to Clear Capital, is a 12,840 square foot modern steel office structure built within Truckee-Tahoe Airport property. The project includes a reconfiguration of the existing airport long-term parking area, circulation and access improvements, storm drainage and water quality treatments, sidewalks, and roadway improvements. AEC provided civil design level services, CEQA support, and construction phase services.

Schaffer’s Mill is a 475-acre planned development located in Martis Valley, east of Truckee, California. AEC was retained to design and develop improvement plans for the amenity parcels consisting of a clubhouse, restaurant, cart barn and sales center, and a parking lot with 123 spaces. Site amenities included tennis courts, pool, and sport court with separated restrooms. In addition, AEC has provided Construction Documents and Final Maps including field surveys, easement descriptions, utility, roadway, and lot layout, drainage, and construction phase/staking services for golf maintenance facilities, development of 109+ townhomes and over 100 custom lots.

Mr. Auerbach was Project Manager for civil design and infrastructure development for this destination resort development. AEC served as the team civil engineer and land surveyor for this 6-acre multi-family mixed use project. AEC prepared the project base maps, conducted utility surveys for relocation documents, prepared drainage analysis and reports in accordance with Placer County requirements, prepared final maps and condominium plans, and prepared construction documentation for roadways, drainage systems, and utility extensions/reinforcements. This was a complex multi-phase, multi-year development, coordinated with numerous regulatory agencies and utility providers. AEC was the engineer of record for the entire project from preliminary planning and tentative maps, through to construction and project closeout.

Relocation of the downtown Tahoe City Fire Station to a 20,000 square foot public safety center. The largest challenge of this project was in siting the development to avoid the stream environment zone and wetlands that surround it. Also important, is the development of a stormwater management plan that is acceptable to the TRPA and Lahontan, which provides treatment of runoff at reasonable cost.
