Committed to Providing Exceptional Service Since 1998!

Civil Engineering

AEC has a diverse range of Civil Engineering services. We enjoy projects that keep things flowing; whether it be water supply systems, stormwater, sewer, or roadways and drainage. Some of our favorite types of projects are recreation related and include sidewalks, trails, and boat ramps.  Residential and commercial sites alike, we aim to provide the best designs possible for your project. Tentative Maps, Improvement Plans, Grading Plans, As-Builts, and Hydraulic models are among our list of deliverables. Contact us to find out more about how our capabilities may relate to your project.

Construction Site Stormwater Monitoring Services

Construction sites require a number of different types of oversight to ensure a project is compliant, non damaging to the environment, and in accordance with plans. AEC regularly provides construction observation, stormwater monitoring, and sample analysis services to accomplish these goals on work sites. We have been involved in the development of SWPPPs and the corresponding monitoring and reporting for many years. Our full service stormwater monitoring services include REAPS, rain event inspections, SWPPP preparation, SMARTS filing, Annual Reports, and project specific BMPs.  Contact us to find out more about our trained, certified, and professional inspectors and how we can assist in the completion of your project.

Environmental Planning and Regulatory Processing

Regulatory and environmental review processes can be very complex for projects inside the Lake Tahoe Basin. From feasibility studies to specific reviews and permitting, AEC’s knowledgeable staff has assisted clients through the countless processes required by the myriad of agencies any given project may encounter.  We offer CEQA/NEPA preparation; TRPA, County, and Town permitting; Design Review; Zoning and General Plan Amendments; USACE Permits; Regional Water Quality Control Board Wetland Permits; USFS Special Use Permits; Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreements; Caltrans Encroachment Permits; and CA State Lands Commission Lease Agreements to name a few. Contact us to find out more about how we can help navigate the regulatory requirements of your project.

Land Surveying and Mapping

The planning and design of all Civil Engineering projects are based upon surveyor measurements. Even after a project’s design has been finalized, surveyors are often required to establish points, grades, and boundaries for the construction phase of the project. Through all phases, every project has different requirements, making the relationship between surveyors and engineers very important. AEC Surveyors provide services to individual homeowners, subdivisions, and infrastructure projects alike. Our in-house equipment includes robotic total stations, and Global Positioning System (GPS) technology combined with Geographic Information System (GIS) applications. Contact us to find out more.
